
Ghosts of Garvanza is a 2-½ hour True Crime Walking Tour which offers a scenic, entertaining and fascinating way to see a darker side of this interesting community in Northeast Los Angeles.
On this tour you will visit the actual scenes of both infamous and forgotten crimes and hear about the notorious and colorful characters of Garvanza of the past. You will visit the site where the first Constable of Garvanza was killed when he led a posse of men on horseback down to the Arroyo to settle a neighborhood dispute. You will see where an incorrigible daughter rejected her absentee father’s first attempts at parenting, with deadly results. You will see where a family of doctors turned their Garvanza office into an impromptu graveyard. And that is just the beginning.
When you learn of all of the spooky crimes that have taken place in Garvanza, you will feel that you are walking amongst ghosts.
Tour Information
Schedule: 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month, 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM
Length: 2-1/2 hours
Walking Difficulty: Route covers about twelve blocks; includes small inclines and some stairs. Participants should be of moderate physical fitness level.
